Power supply fan is noisy and I don't know why

Post by PuppetIRL » Thu Jun 11, 2020 3:50 pm

I have no problems with temperature, it's all cleaned up, the BIOS is updated, the fan settings are correct, and the drivers are all updated aswell, it's really annoying and I just wanted to ask if someone here knows any fix for this problem or if it's possible do buy just the fan of a PS?
Please help, my brother has a condition and he can't play Minecraft because the noise annoys him too much, he's sad.
Thank you for your attention.

Welcome to SPCR.

What's the PSU make/model #?
What kind of noise is it making?

What's the Pc build (CPU, gfx card, etc, case)?

Maybe the fan blades are too thick

If the power supply is getting hot that means it is nearing its maximum capacity or the case temperature is so hot that it increases the power supply temperature. It can be a reason why it is noisy.

It is very likely that the fan is aging and you need to replace it with a new one; or there is a problem with the shaft.
