Is the Thermaltake Silent PP Butterfly 480W a good buy?

Thermaltake PSU retails for $105 CAD., and has a front Fan Control as well as a blower case fan.

Is it a good buy when compared to the Enermax Noisetaker 485 W and OCZ Modstream 450 W?

The Thermaltake has Active PFC while the other two don't.

I would buy a Seasonic PSU (S12 430W), but they aren't available in Toronto area stores.

Edit: Sorry about posting here.

I just read this.

Is there some reason why you cannot order an S12 via the internet?

The Seasonic S12-430 doesn't have a PCI-E plug and it would cost me $30 more than the other PSU's.

ThermalTake is generally avoided for "silent" products. They often exaggerate their dBA ratings. I'd say you go for an Enermax instead. Or a Seasonic.

Are you sure you need a PCI-E power plug? If you get a 6600GT or below, the video card does not need a separate power plug.

I'm getting a X800 XL, but I will probably need one when I upgrade my video card next year.
