80 mm or 120 mm fan psu for my system ?

Post by majinbuu » Wed Apr 27, 2005 5:45 am

So I got an Antec 3700BQE with the stock outtake fan @ 7 volts, I replaced the stock psu with a Fortron 400 watt 120 mm, but I felt like the airflow from the psu, outtake fan an cpu cooler were "crashing" because all three are "sucking" air, so with the fortron my system was making more noise then with the stock antec psu wich only had a 80mm outake fan, could I be wright about this ?.
I now sold both the psu's and want another one with only 1 80 mm outake fan, Witch one should I get from these.

Nexus NX-3000
Tagan 330 watt

Or should I just get a Enermax noisetaker or Nexus NX-3500 psu ?

Thanx for your input.

I guess you can get antecs. Take a look at the new smartpower 2.0's. It has two inline fans and no vent on the bottom. I have one but haven't used it enough to recommend it, but its been really quiet so far. - FG

Frank,
Although I and the other two posters almost sit on top of Rotterdam harbour, where the Antec stuff enters Europe, I haven't seen the SmartPower 2.0 for sale here yet. As usual we have to wait some longer than you for new products.

Tollo,
I didn't know I was Image

OK. I guess inline fans are not exaclty new, but I really think that antec has implemented them in a unique way. - FG

Time and reviews will tell if the new Antec's can live up to their claims.
For now I am getting Enermax noisetaker for my system, thanx for your input.
