I just bought a Phantom 350 today... Oh well  Its enough for me, and i suppose the 500W is more expensive, this one was expensive enough.

$200, eh?

I was expecting a high price, but that still shocked me.

Well yes it is seriously expensive, but i have yet to see a better passive PSU than the Phantom... And they cant excatly price it lower than the 350W now can they? It would of course have been nice if they had dropped the price of the 350 about 60$ or so and have the 500 at the price the 350 used to cost or something like that.

Two days ago I saw the Phantom 500 listed on Antec's website but the link went to the Phantom 350 so I'm not surprised.

The link is semi-hidden... if you head to the store's front, you won't find it.

You need to navigate to the product page first:
http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=24500

Then, hit the "Buy" button in the product description which takes you to:
http://www.antec.com/Cart.bok?cart_id=753053&nb=1

From what ive read its not passive and the fan comes on when 200W+ is in use.. might as well stick with the 350W for a true passive heatsink.

And for SPCR's "official" take on the Phantom 500, you could read the SPCR review of it. :)

Maybe better results can be achieved in terms of the fan not turning on,
and not having to have so much airflow inside the case, if the Phantom 500 is run outside of the case sitting on top. I've ordered one of the monsters, and will give it a try.

Is this more reliable than the Phantom Menace 350's? :D
