Successfully replaced fan in ST400

Post by nbac » Thu May 05, 2005 12:08 pm

I just replaced a slightly clicking D12SM with a Papst 4412F/2GL in my Super Tornado 400 A3.

I first intended to install a Nexus, but since it's a low speed fan I didn't like the idea of powering
it from the PSU's fan regulator. So I tried the Papst instead, with a similar spec to the original fan.

In idle, the fan speed is 200rpm less, but as soon as the PSU heat up, the speed is about
the same as the D12SM.

A great improvement to an already quiet PSU.
