Will a 250 psu handle this?

Post by frosty » Mon Aug 22, 2005 6:57 am

I was wondering if a 250 w psu will handle this load or do I need more power?

2.4 Intel cpu

52 CD RW - not really using

3.5 FDD - plan on unconnecting

Cuda 7200 80 gig hard drive.

ATI - Radeon fanless 9800 video card.

I am thinking of upgrading to this pc, I fried the board or killed it on first try & the board is on warranty so shall obtain a new one, but undecided whether to upgrade or just stick with my old pc and sell this unit for whateve I can get.

TIA

Probably, but what is the rating on the +12V rai? That will be the deciding factor.

Also what make/model of PSU is it? If it's a cheap generic PSU that's getting old you might want to upgrade it.

It is a sparkle brand, muhahahaha, not all that loud, can cannabalize my Athlon and use the 300 w if needed, think I may install and see if the 9800 is ok then swap to the 300 w and cross toes and fingers. I just don't know why I am even doing it since my Athlon 1700 runs so smooth. Only upgrade reason would be to play Doom3 or something.
