Quick PS question

Post by sch » Mon Mar 06, 2006 5:43 am

Can someone tell me is it wise/stupid to buy this ps unit:

http://www.chieftec.de/?page=products_b ... anguage=de
(http://www.sirtec.com/ATX-410-212.php)
http://www.chieftec.de/?page=products_b ... anguage=de

and use it with this configuration:

AMD 3800+ x2;
2x512 DDR400;
Gigabyte K8N Pro SLI;
Gigabyte 6600GT 128MB;
WD 200GB SATA II;
DVD Writer;
CD Writer;

Possible upgrades later :
+RAM
+VGA card (another 6600GT / one 6800)
+1 SATA HD

If not, what are the minimal/usable alternatives...

Thank you.

the all seem like viable alternatives, surely you'll do some modding on them anyhow, replace fans and so on?

about the wattage i think you would get away with a 350w unit even after your upgrades, probably even a 300w although that might get you in trouble if you are for example gaming hard, accessing all disks and opticals at the same time so...

reagrds, kent.

Main concern for me are graphic cards (6600, 6800) because I dont think I ll attach a lot of peripherals (max hdd x2, opt. dev. x2, no pci cards).

Thank you for your response!
