Seasonic M12-700 owners

Post by Nocturnal01 » Sun Mar 04, 2007 3:28 pm

I have a M12-700 and I am looking at the temp controlled fan which should not go on unless the PSU is overheating.

I was wondering if the fan should be kind of rocking back and forth or if the fan should be completely still?

I can see it kind of going back and forth as though may be it wants to kick in but doesn't.

If anyone has one of these PSUs could you check for me and see if your fan is completely still?

Should I be worried about something like this?

The way the m12 does it is both fans get fed the same voltage/fan controller. The only thing that makes the rear fan not startup is it has a higher startup voltage. This is why its 'rockin' a bit (its got a bit of voltage but not enough to get it spinning), and why if you actually managed get a high enough load to get it started, it would keep spinning even once load is back to low again.

Agreed, that fan behavior is by design. Be glad the 2nd fan isn't spinning.
