True power consumption?
I have a seasonic 380W that is working fine.
I plan to upgrade my venice 3000+ to an opteron 170 and my 6600 to a 8800GTS 320MB.
With NIC card, 3 HDs, DVD writer and 120mm fan, opteron and 8800, this site gives 440W.

I often read that the real power needs are lower by a good margin from calculators and nominal values.
How far off am I with my speculations?

8800GTS itself needs less than 9 A.bartoc wrote:one worrying part is that the card requires 26A on the 12V rails on paper and that my seasonic 380 has only 25.

This site kills me, they now have a pro version they expect you to pay for.

Thats outragous, its just like buying Norton Internet Security - a waste of money that doesent meet a single claim - hopefully it wont bring a PC to its knees when installed though.http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine
