I want a PSU that will be so silent I won't end up changing the fan myself.
Nevermind, I went back to my 530w Hiper, turns out the fan connector was loose to the header.
The fact that it has a 3 pin fan header in the PSU is simplistic genius., and the reason why I love my hiper psu.
If anyone wants a truly silent power supply, I recommend this one + a decent 12cm case fan.

Is there an issue with your Seasonic? My 330W is remarkably quiet, not silent, but inaudible from a reasonable distance.
Maybe you should try a fanswap or a passive PSU, though possible coil whine issues may be a hindrance if your ears are that sensitive.

I would advise you do a fan swap to quieten a decent PSU.
I'm currently using a Seasonic Tornado 400W with Sharkoon Golfball 120mm at 7v.
Enermax Noisetaker 480 is running fanless in the bottom chamber of a P180 with the lower chamber fan doing the cooling.

I have a Silverstone fanless 300W PSU and it is truly silent. See the SPCR review for details.

Hmm, I am interested in this model. To anyone running a Silverstone Fanless PSU can you be so good as to share what other components + fans you have?

I’ve used it successfully with this setup with no issues:
Antec P182
Gigabyte GA-G33M-S2
Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 @ 3GHz
Scythe Ninja+ (Rev A) with Scythe S-FLEX SFF21E at 630 RPM
Case fan (parallel to CPU) – Nexus 120mm @ 540 RPM
Samsung HD400LJ – 400GB SATA
Hard Drive fan – Nexus 80mm with Zalman Fanmate 2 at lowest setting.
Nvidia 7300GS - passive

Gosh that sounds like a great rig. (You are my new idol, after Gandhi, *ha ha*.)
Ok well the Zalman Fanmates are very cool. But I am less certain as to how you got your 12cm fans running at 630 and 540 rpm respectively?

The motherboard supports Speedfan so they are controlled by that software.

I don’t use the Q6600 as I just had it for testing; I have an E4500 at 2.75GHz. I just mentioned it as an example of what can be achieved.

Why would we laugh? Is it so different from my HTPC below? Or my Gaming machine, for that matter?
At least until this weekend when the new build will be assembled.
Core2 Duo E6550
2gb DDR2-800
Geforce 8800GT 512MB
800rpm slipstreams to cool
Droooooooooooooool......

My old Antec Phantom 350 is completely silent and still kicking. Knock on wood. :p
I'll be at a loss as to what to replace it with when it dies. I'm about to upgrade to Core 2 Duo E8400 + GeForce 8600GT + 2x 7200rpm HDD's.
Keeping my fingers crossed that it survives the upgrade.
