500 units is not a totally shabby sample, assuming it's somewhat representative. Of course, this is a snapshot in time...

That is rather interesting.

I have a Hiper PSU in the PC infront of me, we have found a low failure rate with these PSU's (not is massive volumes though), the HPU-3S350 is a decent product.

I would like to know whether that article is only "faulty" products, or whether it covers all returns for any reason.

Hmmm, the only "brand-name" PSU I've had fail was a $200 PC Power & Cooling. Of course that hardly compares to the crateful of broken Bestec supplies I've changed out of various HP, Dell, and eMachines boxes over the years.

Only PSU to completely fail on me was a Sirtec-made pos Themaltake Purepower a few years ago. Got another one in return, but never used it. I'd trust their Toughpowers more though.

Corsair numbers look great, glad I chose one for my main rig.

About a third of all faulty PSU's I have seen are Bestec, I dont keep a log but I would guess that I have trown away about 75 Bestec PSU's over the last few years.
