Does Enermax have crappy quality control?

Post by Compddd » Sun Aug 03, 2008 8:43 am

I bought a Enermax Modu82+ 625W for my system, had it a few days now, and just recently today it has started making a clicking or tapping sound.

Any idea what I should do?

Update, I took the fan grill off to see if it was hitting anything, (after reading the other noisey clicking Modu82 thread). The fan is not hitting anything. After I put the unit back together and started my computer up again, the clicking is gone.

I am worried though, whats to keep it from coming back? Is there a possibility since I am running it upside down in my P180 Mini, that being upside down is causing the clicking?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Clicking/Tapping is back. Should I RMA?

It's probably a bad fan. I would RMA, or at least as contact customer service to see what they'll do.

Try running it without the fan guard while you're waiting for them to respond and see what that does.

It could be from a washer inside the fan. Try pulling the fan blades all the way forward to move it. If that doesn't do the trick, push the blades all the way backward.

It makes the noise even without the fan guard now, and it has started emitting a loud coil buzzing sound as well. Going to RMA it.
