defective picoPSU??

Post by zzzach » Mon Apr 13, 2009 2:34 pm

Hi all, a brand-new picoPSU-120 just arrived today. Looking at it, I noticed that the solder on two pins is touching, as if too much solder was used during manufacture. The two pins are the ones immediately to the left of the red wire.

Sorry, I'm new on this forum and can't post links yet, but I've thrown an image of my picoPSU onto flickr, user: billybob99889

I stuck it in an old machine and it appeared to power up and run it just fine. However, I'm concerned about using it with a new machine. Any chance that I'll fry my computer?

I've emailed customer support at mini-box, though haven't heard anything back yet. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the picture Melluk.

I just heard back from mini-box customer support and they say that it is fine and those pins as supposed to be connected together, in case anyone else has a similar looking psu.

If you're talking about the black wires, they're both 0V so no problem.
