UPS has developed a noise of its own

Wasnt sure what forum this belongs in. Please moderate if there is some place better.

I have a TrippLite Smart1300lcdt which for the past two years or so has been dead silent (when not running on battery of course). Recently its developed a sound of its own. 60Hz if I had to guess (unsurprisingly). A sort of buzz/whine. Worth cracking it open to investigate or is it likely be an irreplaceable choke or something?

The aging batteries might be failing and short circuiting a lot of current.
