seagate cuda V 120gb 8mb vs 7200.7 200gb - my experience

I replaced my cuda V 120gb with a 200gb (both ata) yesterday here's my thoughts:

idle noise - 200gb has *slightly* less (I put my ear to both with the case open, can't tell with the case closed)
seek noise - 200gb has more, which was suprising since I had turned AAM off on my 120gb (expected the noise to be the same)
speed - 200gb (of course)
heat - the 200gb runs about 5*C cooler then then 120gb (both mounted in internal 3.5" bay with no fans)..

My 200GB has louder seeks too. I'm not a SeekPhreek so it doesn't really bother me.

My temps with the 200GB are higher, but of course I have a new case which restricts airflow more.

But it's still quiet in idle, so I have no complaints.

I found this to be the case as well.

In fact I have them both in the same machine.

I think the Sea Shield has something to do with that.
