maxtor 60gb opinions?

Post by mr pink » Fri Oct 15, 2004 12:29 pm

Staples has a maxtor 60gb 7200 rpm 2mb cache hdd for $40. I thought about adding it to my system for backup? Noisy drive? I think it's a diamondmax +9

Had a maxtor a bit ago and liked it, but it did whine?

System:

sp802n samsung drive 80gb
antec 3700bqe w/ stock exhaust fan
zalman 3100 flower on silent mode
9600 pro w/vga silencer on low
92mm zalman front fan w/resistor

I'd hate to add a whiny drive!

Whaddaya think?

The price is right.

There is a comparable 60gig 7200 CompUSA by Maxtor HDD thats only $29 without rebate!!! Thats a good look at if you plan on buying the other maxtor.

Personally, i hate maxtor. I now don't like WD so all is left is hitachi, seagate, and samsung.
