hi
did anyone find any software that wil work on the SATA Range of Barracudas ?
7200.7 / 8 ?
as these come as default in HIGH NOISE mode ( ie " performance " ahem....)
Seagate mentioned that this software can be had from the internet !!!!
yes, but where !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

You can try the hitatchi feature tool, it works on my sata samsungs and my old western digitals, so it should work on your seagate. You should be able to find it on hitatchi's website. If not, let me know and I will mail it to you.

thanks, but I tried the Hitachi tool, it recognised the drive, but said that the drive does not support AAM, so thats as far as it got..............
my drive was a SATA 7200.7 80gb
seems a real nuisance, not being able to set AAM

Its not possible on seagates, unfortunately. I tried with my 80g sata cuda7 and it doesnt support AAM. My Maxtor DM9 and Samsung SpinPoint(both sata) does however, and to my surprise the maxtors seek noise is as quiet as the samsung with AAM enabled
I use the Hitachi FeatureTool.
