Anyone used this particular Asus drive? How quiet is it? I'm particularly interested in making sure it's quiet (compared to other drives) when playing movies. I can live with it being average during other times.
I'm replacing a Plextor px-708 which just barfs all over the scratched disks I get from Netflix. Based on the review at http://cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Spe ... leId=13808 the Asus sounds nice.
I'll be using the drive under Linux exclusively. Anyone know if I can upgrade the drive's firmware from Linux? Is this possible with any drive?
