**UPDATE** Gigabyte RAM Drive

Post by The Instigator » Tue Jul 12, 2005 10:33 am

So I spoke to the mareketing rep, and was told he would be getting in some review samples as early as next week. But get this...there will only be 5 review samples total for the whole US. Hes been getting a lot of requests to check it out..icluding companies like Lockheed and Kodak, so Im not sure if I will be able to get one, although my company is high profile and we are close to their US HQ so we can get it back to them quickly. If I get one in, I will be sure to post any info I get and will tell you how to see our preview/first look. He also said it is common for the product to release about 2 weeks after the review samples come in, so the end of July is looking good.

I work for G4TV in tech editorial (read Tech Lab) as a Labrat and product coordiantor (fancy for PR preson). Basically any product you would see on Attack of the Show...formerly The Screen Savers, come through me or my co worker. Im trying to get silent realted tech products on the show, but the producers think its boring and not good TV...oh well.

Good luck, Instigator.

Hopefully you can get a show going about Silent PC's.

When is Gigabyte going to start distributing stock for sale to the public?

I too live in SoCal, wish they would sell here faster. :p

For some weird reason I thought The Screen Savers was based in NY... weird. I'm weird.

God, all of you gamers, imagine BF2 maps loading in just a few seconds and no lagging/hanging after it starts like my Athlon XP 3200/6800 Ultra does right now. *drool*

Any updates?

Which stores brick and mortar and/or online will be stocking them?

I think BF2 is a bad example, with all that crappy coding and bugs no hardware on this earth can get it to work properly...

Works perfectly on my R 9600/A64 3200+... well, apart from the PS2-quality graphics, of course, but at least it's completely silent :P
