Samsung SP2004C & SP2504C performance

Post by RotatingFan » Thu Feb 09, 2006 1:48 pm

Hi all,

I am currently running a SP2004C and very pleased with the idle noise level. I just ran a quick benchmark using HD Tach v3 and was slightly disapointed to see such a low score as I was expecting it to be similar to the 250GB version:

ave. read: 49.5 MB/s
burst speed: 178 MB/s

I feel a bit silly now for not getting the 250 version as it only cost £10 extra!
Do you guys get similar readings or could it be my system settings, or is the 200GB version just slower due to the smaller density platter used?

Thanks!

How come your bust speed is so high?

My SP2504C w/aam
8mb zones
ave. read 60.3 mb/ss
burst speed: 129 mb/s
