Interesting Idea for hard drive silencer -opinions?

Has anyone here tried this idea?

looks like it could work maybe with some extra sound proofing lining. How about an aluminum box lined with that block printing rubber and one of those centrifugal blowers running at 5-7 volts?

Welcome George,

I saw that link a while back, but haven't given that particular design any though since. Combining that metal enclosure with the rubber is worth a try. I've been thinking about something similar for a few weeks. After realizing that two layers of rubber don't mean double the silencing, I been thinking of combining metal with rubber. Stay tuned.
