What conditions cause a hard drive to come out of power management mode?
I have all my files on a WD5000KS and 2 160GB WDs for backup (RAID 1). The RAID drive has only backup files on it, so intended for it to never spin up unless I am running a backup.
The problem is, the drives spin up every time I click the open file button (in any program) or when I open Thunderbird (email).
Any idea on how to keep the drives turned off?
