What the most silent hard drive out these:

Seagate Barracuda (ST3500630AS) 7200.10 SATA NCQ 3.0Gb/s 500GB 16MB

Western Digital Caviar (WD5000AAKS) 500GB SATAII 7200RPM 16MB Buffer

Also what the most silent desktop hard drive there is?

The 5000AAKS would be quieter.

The most quiet desktop drive would probably be the Barracuda IV series.

harddrives are anything but silent. they are actually louder than most quiet fans. the WD is the quieter of the two.
