Where can I get SSD HDD's in the EU ?
Hi there.
Im thinking about buying a SSD HDD for my EPIA system that is currently using a 2.5" Seagate (clicky-clicky) Momentus 5400.3 160GB SATA drive.
I really want this system to be completely inaudible, hence the SSD.
So, where can I buy SSD's in the EU?
And what should I buy?
Thanks in advance.

Scan computers in the UK sell them, but I'm sure you could find them a little closer to home. Try contacting your local Samsung office to see if their are any stockists in Denmark.
What currency are those prices? Swedish or Norwegian? Either way it's a good 30% higher than the UK.HAHA wrote:http://www.prisjakt.nu/kategori.php?k=893
However, if money is no object
Thanks HAHA.HAHA wrote:http://www.prisjakt.nu/kategori.php?k=893
I can get a 32GB Transcend 2.5" SATA SSD in Denmark.
Read speed: 26 MB/s
Write speed: 13 MB/s
The price is ~360$ (2000.- Danish Kroner)
Is the read/write speeds acceptable? Compared to the price?
I dont know the current "standard" of SSD's.
I buy all my hardware from Scan computers, they are generally good on price and are local to me. They are one of the larger component sellers in the UK. I linked to their SSD page in my earlier post. from a quick scout round of a few sites they seem to be the cheapest for the 32Gb drive.
The speeds listed for the Samsung 32Gb are over twice as quick as the transcend (56 MB/s read 32MB/s write) although I'd check that independently somewhere just to make sure.

My system can only fit one 2.5" drive so two 32GB drives is not an option.Delta_42 wrote:Just to add, looking at the prices I've found for the 64Gb drive, it would be cheaper to buy a pair of 32Gb drives
Thanks for the quick scout round.
The 64GB SATA looks good but theyre too pricy. 570 pounds
Hopefully the prices will drop quickly. I really want to get rid of the only moving parts in this system.
