Silent SAS HDs... Does they exist?

Hi guys. I've a pair of Fujitsu MAY3147RC drives (Sas 147gb 15rpms) as main hds on my system since 7 months ago, and they work like a charm... but are too, too loud working (not in idle).

It's a noise about mechanic, not vibration, case... etc. They are mounted in a Lianli PC-S80 case.

Do you recommend me any SAS drives in the market (doesn't matter if 2.5 or 3.5") that makes the lowest possible noise?

Thank you very much guys

you rocks

I have 4 of the Seagate Savvio's 10K 2.5" drives and can vouch for them not being silent at all. They are quiter than their bigger 3.5 SAS brothers but are by no means silent.

I dont think your going to get any 3.5" drives over 10k that are remotely silent, if your determined to keep SAS then look at 2.5" versions.

I have been using SCSI drives for years and they are always the loudest components in my system. You can do a lot with mounting with foam or sorbothane, but there are limits.

One thing you will never be able to get rid of is the chunky access sound.
