http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-I ... B002ZCXJZE

Bought 2 for my WHS. These have 4K sectors (I plan on doing the software alignment).

1.5TB, 64MB cache. Bought 2 for 169.98 = 3TB!!

As of 1:35PM EST the price has increased. There are two prices shown for new drives shipped from a vendor shown as Electronica Direct. Apparently you can choose to pay Electronica Direct either $118.19 or $107.97 for the same drive. Shipping is shown as $7.87.

After two bad experiences I will not shop for components at Amazon.

Newegg has the 2TB Samsung HD203WI on sale for $149.95 with free shipping.

Check out Electronica Direct on Reseller Ratings. The lifetime rating is 2.63 out of 10 and the six month ratimg has dropped to 1.25.

Yep DEAL IS DEAD, looks like I must have gotten in on it while it was still good--message on that page now says:

Due to high demand the Western Digital 1.5 TB Caviar Green SATA hard drive (WD15EARS) has sold out at our special Gold Box price (then blah blah sell you something else).

I usually completely miss out on these deals at Amazon. At least mine is from Amazon directly. Anyone else get in on this? Will see what the effect on power draw is when they come in.

I think I'm about done with the WHS storage wise for a couple years (I hope).

Have a 640 Blue, 1TB Green, 1.5TB F2, and now these 2. :D

Do you think they will drop the price to $84.99 on the 1.5TB WD Green again soon?
