Used HUTIL from samsung site to enable it. It has 3 options, FAST, MIDDLE, and QUIET.

Purchased Samsung 1203P from Newegg.

As an aside, my replaytv is not very happy with the samsung.

I have a SP1213N. It too has the AAM disabled.
Despite that I can only hear the drive if I place my ear very close to it.
