XP-120 with PCS800D-E Deluxe...

Post by Magic » Fri Mar 04, 2005 10:38 am

Thermalright's web site says that with this mb: "caps mechanically obstruct pipe very slightly, no cap tilting neccesary"

What do they mean?

I understand what cap tilting is. But how can it both obstruct and not need tilting?

M,

That means the xp-120 just barely kisses the capacitors so it should fit without having to bend them. Sometimes the obstruction is such that you will have to bend them out of the way in which case you could damage them. If think you mean asus p4s800d-e:

You can see the capacitors between the cpu socket and the ports or they could be on the memory side or both. Its kind of hard to tell, but maybe someone here can say yes or no. I think it will be OK if thermalright has tested it or it could just be a user who has verified that it fits. Wait for some more posts. - FG

This link says it fits:

Frank...

Yep, that's the motherboard I meant. Sorry for the typo.

Thanks.

I have that exact combination :) No problem to install at all. I have the heat pipes mounted towards the memory slots. Downwards in the above picture.
