Intel P4 2.8B with Zalman 7000B-AlCu at 19 Celsius - Normal?

Post by Veniogenesis » Fri Dec 23, 2005 11:23 pm

Hi everyone!

I have a quick question. :D I'm running a Intel P4 2.8 GHz "B" with a Zalman 7000B AlCu heatsink. I haven't had experience with SpeedFan, but I tried it earlier today; it said that my processor was running at 19 degrees Celsius. My friends tell me that processor temperatures are usually around 50 degrees Celsius. Is my temperature reading normal? Or is the sensor faulty?

Thanks so much!
Venio

Ambient Temp = 22 Celsius

I can't see it being able to be lower than ambient temp, unless you're running it refrigerated...

Your motherboard's readings are wrong. Don't worry about it, my 3,2 Northwood reads 23 at idle and 45 at 100% load. Or do this: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article191-page1.html

Have a Prescott 3.0 with 7000B AlCu. Temps are 20/30/38/52C (room/case/idle/load). The differences between these are more important.. in my case 10/8/14C.

I was getting slightly better ranges (-2C) with my stock HSF though. Should have gone for the Cu :)
