that's pretty neat, though I'd prefer the fan on the HS and the duct just attached to the case - that way any fan noise would be further removed from the outside (plus it'd have to get through the HS in the 1st place).

wonder how well it'd work to other tower HS of similar dimensions?

A fan inside would be quieter, but this setup takes the weight of the fan off the heatsink mount. Just another approach.

Yes Sir. The real trick in the making a silent computer is: NO!!! FANS IN THE CASE PERIPHERY.

This is what i have it like in my other rigg which i Lian li 6070 case. Which only has indirect pull and push of air from and to fans from outside of the case.

Air coming from inside of case  Yate Loon 92  TT tower 112 Cu cooler  Air duct  Modified case wall  outside of case.

The airduct (tumble drier duct) not only kills much of the sound from the YL's it also blocks other noise from inside the case like Gpu cooler etc.

So ducting moves from the DIY world of cardboard and Elmer's glue into the corporate arena where the suits reign. Sigh.
