Thermalright Ultra 90 or Scythe Mine?

Post by mits » Mon Oct 16, 2006 11:19 pm

Hi all,
I’m building a new system for a friend based on a Core 2 Duo E6600 and i would like to know: Will the cooling provided by a thermalright ultra 90 for socket 775 with a Nexus 90mm be sufficient or it would be better to go for a Scythe Mine?
TIA

any plans to overclock the CPU?

If so, you might have to run the fan at a higher rpm compare to more efficient heatsinks which leads to more noise.

No, he does not plan to overclock the cpu. The computer will be mainly used as an AV editing machine.
