1u server hs for project?

Post by kentc » Mon Jan 01, 2007 8:26 am

hi,
does anyone have experience of using 1u server heatsinks? i wanna build a ultra low profile desktop and the heatsink is the only thing in my way right now :)
question is then: do these types of heatsinks require vast amounts of airflow to operate well? cpu would be 3200+ running at 1ghz 1.1v / 1.6ghz 1.2v.
thanks, kent.

The 1U heatsinks are pretty effective. I have a Pentium M (2 GHz) with a 1U Socket 478 copper heatsink on it and I barely need any airflow. I don't have any experience running K8 CPUs though...
