Help me choose a medium/low profile HS/F?

I'm building a HTPC and would like to choose a good, quiet cooler for the E6600 (not overclocking it).

I'll be using this HTPC case, which has a stated height of 140 mm. I'm guessing that's the exterior height, and so I'm guessing I need my HS/F to be something like 110 mm. If anyone has this case I'd love to get some confirmation.

Motherboard will be asus p5w deluxe wifi.

I'd like to keep this at $40, but will consider going higher if need be. Due the nice heat signature of the e6600 and the fact that I'm not OCing, quiet is probably more important than cooling performance.

It depends on the case. For NSK2400, there's only one real choise

Andy, thanks for your warm welcome. I've been spending many hours researching each piece as this will be my 1st build, and I have to concur that the sharpest minds were all on this board.

Erssa, thanks for the advice. I actually did read that thread pretty closely (and all threads relating to the NSK2400 since the profile looks fairly close). I wasn't sure if it applied because it looks like my orientation is 90 degrees different.

As you can see, the case exhaust fans are over the i/o panel. Also, if it fits, how does that thing perform?

I'm thinking one of these might fit right over the heat pipe HS on the mobo perfectly... on the other hand, it might not fit at all.

Well I think I'm gonna drop the gamble on this one.

Supposedly it's based the AC Freezer 7 pro OEM hardware.

Anyone know anything more about it? Not much info out there.

I've only seen 1 review of the i2 from a Malaysian site.

I was looking into that as well, but I think I'll be going with this instead as I'll be doing a lot of gaming with my new build. So I have to sacrifice some dBA for FPS.

I'm using the scythe katana in a 140mm high HTPC. It's a bit loud at stock speed, but OK when turned down a bit. It's still a relatively tight fit, but not ridiculously cramped.
You could always swap the fan, but I found it provided acceptable noise/cooling as is.
It's not super expensive either. 100% load temps on an overclocked e4300 are about 55-60C when the fan is undervolted, and about 45C when the e4300 is at stock speed (fan still undervolted), which is what it is day to day, I just had to see how far I could o/c it first! : )

A little late for a reply, but I am using the Thermalright XP-90C with the Asus P5W DH Deluxe inside of a Silverstone GD01 HTPC case. While the CPU cooler does require their LGA775 RM adapter bracket, it has no problem fitting the board and the case, and seems to be effective with a quiet fan.
