Prescott cooler

Which one of coolers/heatsinks (which is the correct term?), should I use for my P4 3.2GHz Prescott ?

I really dont know what to look for. Currently I use the stock cooler/heatsink from Intel, which is quiet when temp is below 65C (temp as of writing is 58-60C) which is fine for non-gaming needs - aka it doesnt spin-up.
Im only really upgrading because I will be attending a LAN party and gaming will be the main event (surprise

). Thus I will be transporting my computer with train so its importent that the cooler/heatsink is sturdy and can take the beating moving it around does.

To sum up, I need a: better performence, quieter operation, study, somewhat cheap and easy to install.
Also note that my case is NOT a tower, so no big/huge ones.

Thermalright XP-90 or Thermalright XP-120. easy installation for 478. Definately better cooling than intel stock. Both are light weight and not high, so works well for LAN case ^^

Would your money be better invested in keeping the hot hot CPU and buying a better HSF, or keeping the HSF and buying a lower-power more modern CPU? Or is there a socket problem?

Ditto the suggestion for Thermalright XP-90 or XP-120 (or SI-120), Very pleased with my XP-120 with a Papst fan at 800-1300 rpm. I'd think that a Globalwin or Scythe fan (1200-1300 rpm max) would be as good, cheaper, and much more available.

Actually an older Northwoods P4 will run cooler, hence quieter, and any speed differences will by insignificant. My Northwoods 3.0C immediately dropped temps throughout the system by 10C compared to a 3.0E Prescott.
