P182 + Scythe Ninja + CPU fan + ducting
Hi,
I'm planning on creating a duct for more cooling performance.
Is it useful to create a duct if you have a CPU fan clipped onto the cooler?
I have a P182 case, a scythe ninja and yateloons 12DSL.
Who has done a duct system and how have you done it?
Please post as many pics as you can for examples.
any advice + tips = welcome
thx

Here's my previous ducted Ninja project. There are many ways to make ducts for a Ninja. This particular one uses a 92mm Nexus, and a tight wood duct. But the CPU is low-power, a Pentium M, so it doesn't require much airflow.
The main point of a CPU HSF duct is to direct the CPU's hot air straight out of the system so it doesn't contribute to the VRM or power supply or video card or motherboard (especially north bridge) heat/temperature.
As CPU wattage continues to drop (especially since Core 2 duo/quad), this has become less important. Now the main reason for a CPU HSF duct is to be able to run the CPU fan slower and thus more quietly.
