The Noctua NH-C12P: two new rave reviews

Post by Herb W. » Sat May 31, 2008 5:53 am

This new Noctua has just received two more rave reviews, confirming that offered at Dragon Steel Mods.

One comes from the widely respected Mikhailtech folks, another from TweakTown. No comparison yet to the current champ, the Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme, but it looks more usable in smaller/HTPC systems than most powerful coolers. It also looks to be exceptionally good at cooling with the fan in silent mode at very low speeds - there is virtually no loss of cooling function; check out the ULN low-speed fan performance graphed here (from Mikhailtech). Lower temps at full load than the stock cooler at idle - nice! Time for SPCR to hit the labs with this baby...

the Noctua U12P is still better for regular desktop users, right?
