As the title says I am thinking of changing my Ninja for an HR01 Plus.. The Ninja just doesn't seem to be doing to well on my E6700 (running stock, no clocking or voltage changes)..
My ambient temp is 25C, internal case temperature is maintained at 35C (via q-fan controlling case fans) and the CPU is idling at 50C with a Scythe PWM fan on the Ninja running at about 850rpm.. I am hoping an HR01 Plus will drop that..
Has anyone used an HR-01 Plus on an E6700 that can give me some expected numbers?
Thinking about using an HR01 Plus on E6700..

I wouldnt buy a whole new heatsink, the HR-01 may get youa few more degrees under ideal conditions, thats it.
It seems like your temps are high though, im running a ninja rev b semi passively (no fan on heatsink, relying on case fan next to it to draw air) and my temps are better than that (using an E6600). If you havent already, get some good thermal paste (Artic silver 5 is what i use, but most of the aftermarket gloops all perform the same) and get a backplate (Thermaltake sell a generic LGA775 backplate that is compatible), that can lower your temps 5c or more since the original push pin mounting on the ninja is lame.

Try dropping vCore first - my E6700 runs at stock speed down just below 1.2V and this makes it run very cool even at 100% TAT testing (core temps < 50 degC).
BTW I'm using a TR SI-128 (orig version) and the PWM fan never goes above 500rpm unless I start overclocking (which requires the vCore to be raised).
