I got mine in today and here are results

cooler i use was Thermalright XP-90 passive on Intel T7200 with 120mm PSU fan pulling from top and 80 mm fan pushing from side

Ambient temp was 26.9 C during the test(all temps are in degree celcius)

before was using Arctic Silver Ceramique

Image

idles at 32 and load is over 80

after using IC Diamond

Image

Idles 30 and load is around 50

and keep in mind that this testing was done right after applying TIM, without any curing time

just WOW

I would like to participate in the test, have used Artic Silver 5 and currently using OCZ Freeze

Thank you

--------------------------------------------------

These are my results for a new build.
Q9400, Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS4 MBoard, Zalman 7000 AlCu stock fan, open air setup.

OCCT 3.1.0 Run for 2 hours
RealTemp 3.00

------------------Idle-----------Load(max)----Ambient----Rise above Ambient
AS5 ----------39-33-28-29--53-46-48-49--25.5(78f)---27.5-20.5-22.5-23.5
OCZ Freeze 39-33-29-29--51-44-46-48--25.0(77f)---26.0-19.0-21.0-23.0
IC7 ----------39-33-29-29--52-45-46-47--26.7(80f)---25.3-18.3-19.3-20.3

According to RealTemp sensor test, the first and third temp sensors are stuck at the low end meaning the sensors don't report temps lower than a certains temp on a cool down test. This seems to be quite common on 45nm Core2 Quads. Note that Core Temp 0.99.4 shows that the first and third temps are actually core 1 and core 2?

The results seem to fall in line with expectations, namely AS5 being the oldest formulation, giving the worst result, OCZ being a more recent TIM gives the middle result, and IC7, the newest TIM, gives the best. I expect that in a closed case and/or overclocking, the results would spread out more with IC7 gaining a bigger advantage.

IC7, although the best performer, is quite thick in consistency and a bit more difficult to apply (what about HDT heatsinks?). OCZ Freeze is almost as good and has a thinner consistency and is claimed by the manufacturer to remain stable. My current build is using OCZ for the last 18 months and seems very stable.

Regards.. Ed

I'll help them test it out. I've got a 45 watt dual and a 95 watt triple core to find various results.

I've also got a couple graphics cards that would be more than happy to be guinea pigs.

MikeC,

I'm guessing you got in touch with IC after I mentioned them in the thread the other day? :)

Pretty cool that they're giving away samples for people to test with, I've used it in both my current systems and its a really good thermal compound!

I'll try it. I've heard of this and I'd like to see how it stacks up against my TC 0098.

I agree to test IC Diamond 7. I can't give any results for a couple of weeks, but I'll compare it to Arctic Silver Céramique in a water cooling loop.

I was going to buy it and read reviews about it here...so yes I would love to test out the ICD7 and I already bought heatsinks for the CPU, northbridge, and southbridge. I'll test the ICD7 and post results.
