Is it possible to silently cool a Q6700?
I'm planning to keep my computer in my sig for at least another 2 or 3 years, so I'd like to upgrade to a Q6700 sometime soon. Currently, my E6700 is cooled with a TR SI-128 SE with a Scythe S-Flex 800 RPM fan. The ambient temperatures should hover around 25C for the summer and around freezing in the winter (New England weather). Currently, my idle temperatures are a little below 45C idle using Intel's Thermal Analysis Tool and a little higher than 65C under load. Will my current cooling setup be fine for a Q6700?

i think the answer is simply: yes.
i have a q6600 which has the same TDP as your q6700.

i had it oc'd to 3000 MHz and with a hdt-s1283 with a 120mm scythe fan at circa 800 rpm it was around 35-40 C at idle and 60-65 C at load, depending on the ambient temps. 3 120mm fans on a zalman fan controller at inaudible (to me) settings. if you are happy with the acoustics of your fan at 800 rpm then you should be fine. how are your current case temps and airflow?

Thank you! Yes, I am very satisfied with the acoustic performance of my current setup and I'd like to keep it as it is. I have a good feeling that my setup would be able to accomodate the Q6700, but I wanted to make sure first. I'm not sure on the case temps, but I have 4 fans in my system: 3 Scythe S-Flex 800RPM models - GPU, CPU and case; and the stock fan in the 520HX.
