Abula, just curious, do you believe it would be possible to squeeze a couple of more dBA's and a couple of degrees out of the Noctua NH D15S with a Silent Wings 3 instead of the stock fans?
Not sure what you are saying, more dBA's? you want more noise and less temperature? Get some Thermalright TY143, its very likely that they will outperform the stock fans at the cost of more noise. Now if you are asking if i think with BQ SW3 you could achieve better temperature at a lower noise... i don't think so, but its just my personal guess.

If you want better performance, wait for the NH-D16, it was suppose to come this year... but with covid19 might get delayed some, i have hopes that Noctua will introduce it with their NH-A14x25 that have been in development for some time now.
Lol...no, I meant squeeze more dBA's OUT (i.e. remove) from the Noctua NH D15S, but I guess I should have worded it better.

I just ask because I've seen reviews where the NH D15S outperformed the Dark Rock Pro 4 in cooling by a couple of degrees, but the Dark Rock Pro 4 was quieter by a couple of dBA's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fq-oi7p6r4&t=611s

I thought this might be due to the Silent Wings 3 on the Dark Rock Pro being a slightly quieter fan than the Noctua fan. So if you swapped out the stock fan on the Noctua for the SW3, you'd have the better cooling from the Noctua heat sink AND quieter fan?

It might... but highly unlikely, when i tested the BL066 vs other fan their preformance behind the heatsink was average and noise waise was worst than the NF-A12x25, second.... the BL067 is a 140mm fan, the 140 over 120 from bequiet are purewings instead of silentwing... i dont have those in hand. I do think the BL067 SW3 are really good fans, to me the best 140s, but my use is for case fans.

That's what I meant. Swap the NF-A15 140mm stock fan for the silent wings 3 BL067 (both are 140mm). In the test I linked to the NH-D15s cooler was getting slightly better temps, but slightly more noise than the Dark Rock Pro 4. I'm thinking this might be because the fans on the Dark Rock Pro 4 are slightly quieter. The specs indicate both fans (120mm and 135mm) are silent wings 3. https://www.bequiet.com/en/cpucooler/1378. Not sure of the exact part number though.

No, the fans are not the same, yes they are 140mm both.. but the frame is not, the NF-A14 would be equal to the BL067 (true 140mm fans), the NF-A15 are 140mm fan on a 120mm mounting frame, same is the case for some bq purewings (not that easy to find).... and most thermalright TY series, the mounting clips wont match on the BL067.... do i think the BL067 could still be mounted on the NH-D15... probably with zipties or wires. That said, i still dont think you will get much better, but this is my last remark on this as its pure speculation on my part.
