what can ya recommend for a 80 mm Fan low dba?
oh my i made a huge mistake... i thought the fan i needed was a 120 mm fan but in fact it is only a 80mm fan that i need to replace....
Can someone share some thoughts on the 80mm fans available and im so so sorry for the confusion! thnks a million for being understanding
Must be a 120mm fan.. this is the best one i saw but rather expensive... found 2 for 27.80
at hardwarecooling.com
Not really wanting to go up in price either unless the performance and
sound dba is extremely benifitial.
Anyone know of something quieter??
Thnks

I haven't tried stealth fans myself, but people here don't think very highly of them. Some good alternatives to try are (in no particular order) the Papst 4412, AcoustiFan, Panaflo L1A, Evercool (a bit louder than the rest but has more airflow) and Enermax adjustable. Nexus, who make a good 80mm fan, are also supposed to be releasing a 120mm one soon.

I've used Vantec's Stealth Pro 92mm fan and it's attrocious.
Go with the AcoustiFan AF120CT; my review is right here.

I haven't tried any 120mm fans myself, but from what I hear, the Papst is probably your best bet if you want the absolute quietest fan you can get. If you need a lot of airflow, and want a good CFM/Noise ratio, I understand that the Evercool is an excellent choice.
I'm just looking at it right now out of curiosity, cause my Coolmax Taurus CX power supply appears to have a T&T fan in it. I can't find much info on it ANYWHERE, but it appears Coolmax also sells the T&T fans, and on their website, these are the specs I've found for it:
Model 1225L12S/B/F, 12VDC, 0.40amps, 2000RPM, 77.35CFM, 35.9dB
For me, the Evercool would probably be the closest match in terms of CFM performance.
If it is for a power supply that you want this fan, I highly recommend that you try to match the original as closely as possible for airflow, especially if it has an automatic control circuit.

1) You can also now get the AcoustiFans at Silicon Acoustics
2) If you want the absolute quietest fan you can get, I've had good luck with the Nexus Real Silent Case fan. This is THE quietest fan I've used so far, bar-none. Unfortunately, it doesn't flow enough air in my case, so I'm waiting to receive a Panaflo L1A, to see how it does.
