Papst 4412 FGL or Enermax UC-12FAB ?

Post by DG » Thu Feb 26, 2004 4:48 pm

I know, i know, not another 120mm fan thread! :D But i've searched the forum and i didn't find an answer to my question...So here it goes:

Wich is the most silent of the two fans, without a FanMate, at:
Papst 4412 FGL .... at 12v
Enermax UC-12FAB ... at the lowest speed setting

That's a strange question, why would you want to compare the noise level of the enermax at min speed to that of the papst at full speed? If this helps, I swapped my stock Sonata case fan for the 4412. Both were powered from the TP380S fan only power connector, which on my system normally sits around 6Vdc. The Papst is much quieter than the stock fan, almost inaudible unless I stick my head under the desk. Definitely recommended. All things equal, a sleeve bearing (aka hydrowave) fan will be quieter than a ball bearing (enermax) fan.
