Its on sale for $5, I was thinking of giving it a try to replace the fans that are on my case right now.

Give it a try; I and several other users have found the 80mm rifle beaeing LED fans from Cooler Master to be quite good, completely in contrast to all the other rifle bearing fans they've produced (including the ones that come with their CPU HSFs).
Strange, but true.

My wife has several of the Coolermaster UV fans that are the same fan as the LED fan. Suprisingly, it is a decent fan so far. Not any louder at 12v then a Panaflo L1A imho. It is a good fit, I can make it relatively quiet and she gets her "pretty" lights in her computer.

SVC has some arctic cooling LED fans with a 3 speed selector. Middle is quiet, and low is about a 7v L1A. The LED is bright at all settings.

I have the 120mm version and it makes a very smooth sound when held at arm's length from me.

Oh poop! I forgot these are 34mm depth which is not standard. This is not because the fan blade is massive, but because of the plastic area which has given the fan better balance supposedly. I havent hard mounted mine, but hung it using some string facing onto my passive vga cooler.

I just grabbed the fan and plugged it in. Its a HUGE improvement over my old fans. Too bad it was limit one, and they are sold out already, I can't return to get more.

I put them on the case.... and its just plain annoying... I dunno how it could be quiet outside and get magnified 10 folds when mounted. Did I do something wrong?

I'm running three of them, and I have the same problem. Thank god Santa UPS is delivering my new case and Papst 120mms tuesday.
I think if you have an aluminum case, the vibrations of those CM fans will drive you nuts.

I have a steel case.... I'm too lazy to remove the fan right now, maybe later.
