I would go for the nexus :) because they are probably the most quiet (you may find you don't need the speed reduction cable), they also seem to be cheaper than papst by quite a margin. As for reliability, they are both good but I've come accross some clicking when undervolting papst before.

One thing to keep in mind, if you've got some hot kit in the pc65, is these fans won't move a lot of air, but they'll be soooo much quieter than those Adda fans! :D

My config is:

P4 3.0C, Zalman 7000B-AlCu, Corsair 512MB, WD 160GB Caviar SE (ide), LG GSA-4163B, Enermax Noisetaker 370W, Lian Li (PC-65B)

I've got the zalman on silent and the enermax on lowest settting too. My cpu is running around 35-50 degrees celsius and my MB is 32-40 degrees celsius. (These temps are when i have all case fans disconnected.)

The reason I was thinking of getting the Nexus Speed reduction cable was because I would have 4 x Nexus 80mm fans in my case. But if the difference is negligible than i can save my money??

Oh, in my lian li, I have a 3-speed fan controller built into case for the front 2 intake fans. If I were to hook up a Nexus speed reduction cable to it and have the controller on lowest setting, will that even run?

Those temperatures are excellent, I would be tempted to just buy two nexus 80mm, one intake other exhaust to get a little more airflow and leave it at that.

But in answer to your questions:
-I would get some form of speed reduction for the nexus fans to tweak the noise level, maybe zalman fanmates since you can adjust the speed to the level you are happy with.

-They will not start reliably with both speed cable and the LianLi switch. So I would not bother with speed reduction cables for the front fans since there is no way you're going to need both to make a nexus fan quiet. Even at 12volts they're very good and probably below the noise level of your zalman/enermax/western digital combination, definitely at the medium or low settings of the LianLi.

Before buying things, if you haven't already, it might be good to have a look at the recommended fan list...

...and compare the stats with the review of your heat sink and psu (taking into account that your hard disk isn't the most quiet).

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll go with the Nexus fans.

I already checked out the recommended list, the reason I was asking about the Papst was because the review was from 2002 and for the 12dbA model. I was looking at purchasing a 9dbA model and was curious for a more recent opinion. :o

Oh I cheaped out for the WD cause there was no deal on the Seagates. But it's alright, HD noise doesn't bother me really. It's fan noise that absolutely kills me!! I was thinking of getting a HD enclosure later, but I'm gonna try to suspend first.
