Recommend a Fan Controller - ASAP

Post by soultaker » Thu Mar 31, 2005 10:18 am

I have installed my case & CPU fans into my system but as of right now they are running at full voltage, I have 3 fans in total, I'm looking for some reccomendations for good quality fan controllers. Oh and I am gonna be swinging by the PC store later tonight, so please post your recommendations asap - thanks!

This one. It's cheap, does its job, and is virtually guaranteed not to introduce noise into your system.

I have the generic fan controller as well. However, my controller's 3rd switch doesn't drop the voltage like what's mentioned in the review. All 3 switches give voltages of ~6-12v, measured with a cheapo multimeter.

fits nicely behind the sonata door

I second the recommendation. No nonsense, just functional.

I third that recommendation. I've been using one on the test bench for breaking in fans. It's been running for well over a year now, adds no extraneous noise to the system, has good control over the fans, a nice "feel" to the operation of the knobs, has been 100% reliable and was very inexpensive.

Where do you buy that generic controller? I haven't even seen it mentioned somewhere in Sweden.. :(

I quith that!

or third it a few times. I have one sitting next to me unopened (didnt go with the antec black amorphous amb case in the end)

I have used it on a tualatin system for 2 years, great thing. it gets to near 5v, say 6. It has a GREAT range, it is VERY sensative to adjustment.

It also comes in black, not just silver. AND, it has no lights. which is great.

However, the best fan controlling system is the Zalman big jobbie. It has full control to 5volts, and has knob control of 4 fans, and 5volt/12 volt switch type controls, 2 of them (great if you have toys inside like I do.)
