My system includes

Antec P150 (w/ Tri-Cool stock fan at low setting)
Asus P5L-VM 1394 mainboard
Intel C2D E6400 (cooled with Scythe Ninja w/ stock fan at 5V)
Asus EN7600GS SILENT graphics card in PCI-E slot
Samsung 80GB hard drive (going to be replaced with T166 320GB)

When I start the SpeedFan it finds four temperatures (current temps in idle)

System (38C)
CPU (32C)
AUX (3C)
HD0 (18C)

SpeedFan doesn't detect the graphics card at all. How could I get that?

I can't get mine either, though I am not sure if speedfan can read any graphs card temps. I have an ATI card and the ATItool doesn't read it neither. any solution?

Some cards still don't have a temperature sensor. Maybe the silent cards are amongst them
I tried googling for the card but I found no info if it has a sensor or not.

Try a newer version of ATITool (RC16) or look in ATI Catalyst.

Speedfan doesn't usually seem to detect VGA temps; it detected the temp on my old Geforce3, but I haven't seen it detect more recent cards. A pity really...

In my old system I have GeForce MX something, quite old and very slow card. SpeedFan does detect that, so I was kind of expecting it to detect the gfx card also in my new system. But apparently this is common issue.

Does the ATI tool work also for GeForce?

Oh, by the way, that 3 degrees Celcius in AUX seems bit odd... ambient temperature was 20 C.

Does ATITool work with nVidia cards like the 7600GS?
If nVidia nTune monitor doesn't detect the temps then it will be down to graphics card, or as in my case, MB support.

nVidia cards can be monitored with the nVidia applet in display properties. If you want a log, I suggest RivaTuner. I find the thermal monitoring support in ATITool is quite sketchy, especially for non-ATI cards.

Try Hardware Sensors Monitor v4.2.4.2 or newer, works for my 7900GT where Speedfan or MBM or whatever didn't work. But it's not freeware...

I was able to get the temps both using RivaTuner or nVidia's own display drivers.

Boy, is this fanless 7600GS running hot. After having the PC on for couple hours the GPU idle temps were 78 C. And running rthdribl for 20 minutes jumped the temps to 105 C. You could boil water in that tempereture!

I don't know if I should be worried though. On nVidia's driver control panel there's a setting that will make slow down the GPU when the heat reaches 125 C. Still 20 degrees to go...

On the other hand, I might think of throwing in a 92mm intake fan to make the air conditions better inside the case.

After replacing the Asus driver for 7600gs with nVidia's driver both RivaTuner and nVidia's control panel are showing temperatures that are 20 degrees lower than with Asus' drivers (now: idle 58C, load 86C). I'm willing to believe these lower temps are right. 86C degrees is still high but at least it's not over the boiling point of water.

It should be easy to test which driver gives the correct temperatures
