Has anyone successfully powered this fan from the 3pin motherboard header? or Do you need to run this fan off a 3pin to pin adapter?

yes, it can be run from the 3pin header

Most 120mm I have seen are running with a 4pin adapter.

It's good to know the yateloon fans can run off the 3pin header.
