Replacing to two front fans in a P180 - need suggsetions

Post by schu » Wed Sep 19, 2007 7:49 am

My friend has an Antec P180 and the two front fans are starting to go. He was going to buy two new Antec fans to replace the ones that are in there, but I figured you guys could come up with something better/quieter. I doubt he will be willing to go too much more than the price of the fans he was going to buy:

Any ideas?

Thanks....

If he is happy with replacing the fans with exact same new ones, just contact Antec through their online RMA and they will send you replacements for free. One of my fan's failed and I just contacted them, provided my details and they shipped a replacement out straight away.

However, if he has a fan controller and wants to get fans that run quieter, I recommend he buys some Yate Loon D12SL-12 as they are extremely good and efficient:

That is a crazy suggestion. 120mm fan reviews? what?

:)

I'll pass that on to him, I just get a little post happy at work... BUT, if anyone had any luck with specific fans in the front of the 180, let me know. He does not have a fan controller...

Yate Loon's are among the best and are also dirt cheap. What else does one need :)

Does he really NEED front fans at all? If his gear is real hot..yeah maybe.
Scythe has a fan that is 800 rpm stock.

I never figured why a case aiming to the silent PC crowd sticks TWO fans in front......or any. Of course....what you NEED depends on what the whole thing is and what it does. An Undervolted Sempron web surfer? A OC'd Quad with blazin' SLI cards?

If 2 12 v fans are wired in series then each runs at 6v or half stock speed.

Still........These cases need NO front fans...need a less obstructed inlet path including a floor hole
