Need 92mm fan for Thermalright HR-03 on Radeon HD2900XT....

Post by 003 » Wed Oct 24, 2007 8:41 pm

Ok I just put a thermalright hr-03 on my radeon HD2900pro (which was overclocked faster than an XT), but unfortunately the fan I used was nowhere near strong enough. It was a Nexus Real Silent 92mm fan, pushing 27cfm of air at 19db.

So I need one that pushes more air, and is still quiet. Does anybody know of anything that will work well?

I've used a Scythe Kamakaze 2 92 mm fan on my HR-03 which is mounted on a 8800GTS. It has a manual fan control and can range from 1000RPM to 3800RPM, which at maximum it moves 73.6 CFM but of course is loud (claims to be 46.0dbA). So when your in 2D mode, you can set the fan to minimum and is very quiet, even quiter than a nexus 92mm at 12v (I have both fans) .

If possible I would like one that I don't have to control manually. Any other suggestions?

Yate Loon 92mm or Noiseblocker Blacksilent XE2. Both are excellent.
