New Scythe fan controller available now.
German site link. My German is not so good, but it appears this may become available in the next few months. The controller apparently goes from 3.7-12V......nice range. I suspect the actual read-outs on the panel, may be too small to be easily read.

Apart from a range from 3.7 - 12 V, each fan can also be shut off.
The 3.5" version has 2 controls, the 5.25" has 4 controls.
Available colours: black and white.
In the 5.25" version, also 4 temperature sensors are included, readouts on the display as well (F or °C).
It looks like a stylish alternative to e.g. the Akasa fan controller, with a higher voltage range.

Here's what the Scythe marketing person has to say about this device..
"That fan controller arrived as samples and I will get some press on that. The official release is not set yet, I will do that when I am abck in Germany. For now I plan to announce the Kaze Master fan controller by end of January, approx. 30.01.2008. So this is also when you will be able to purchase that item."
You know....this Scythe controller is suspiciously similar to the i-Guard controller. Wouldn't surprise me if the same outfit making the Scythe controller, also makes this device...

When big-fan cases first appeared, iCute introduced several smaller (for the big fan) cases. These were, and are, sold mainly in Australia with some in Canada and Britain (among non-asian countries). AFAIK, iCute sells nothing at all in the US of A.Bluefront wrote:I'm still trying to find the i-cute in the USA.

These Scythe controllers are now becoming available......Heatsink Factory link. I'm not impressed with the looks. The knobs are too long, and the display doesn't look too good either. But they are available in a 5.25" and a 3.5" version (two fan control). I still cannot determine if they use PWM or analog voltage control. The range of control is nice.....not buying however.

If you look at this image you can see 4 3-pin headers. So no PWM I suppose.Bluefront wrote:These Scythe controllers are now becoming available......Heatsink Factory link. Thanks for the update…
I actually like this one, clean looks, possible to turn of the fans, great placement of the fan connectors making cable management a breeze, opposed to having them cluttered in the centre as on the Rheobus and Akasa which I always found a bit irritating. Regarding the knobs, well; they can easily be modified (shortened), I’ll have to second the display though, doesn’t look all that promising judging by the pictures, but than again; the pictures are fairly poor so perhaps we should wait for a review…

FlorisNielssen...I'm not sure what you mean. The 3-pin header certainly could be PWM. Analog voltage controllers usually have heatsinks.....I don't see any. But the Scythe Kama Panel has six fan headers, no heatsinks, and it's an analog controller.
Hard to say....since it goes down to almost 3V, a PWM control would keep most fans spinning.
Just figured it out....you mean the new-style PWM fans with a 4-pin plug... it's for three-pin fans for sure, but the control can be PWM.

It's not pwn, here you can see the mosfets, identical to the akasa rheobus 3.5" controller: http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/7172 ... 863ji9.jpg
